Rotation triggers that survive a noisy week

3 June 2026

Clients ask for permission to rotate after every sharp session. Permission is the wrong frame. What helps is a pre-written trigger: for example, “only increase the short-duration bond sleeve when the equity band sits above its ceiling for two month-ends,” or “trim a sector satellite if it exceeds 8% of the portfolio after contributions.”

We also write non-triggers. “A single bank failure headline” or “a viral post about a commodity spike” do not move the core. That sentence sounds obvious in a calm room and becomes useful when the calendar fills with alerts.

If your current notes only say “review quarterly,” add one concrete condition per sleeve. The next Rotation Watch Session will go faster because you already know what you came to test.
